The experts said: “The Fiat 500 is renowned for its iconic styling and nimble handling.”
They use a 2020 example, with a 1.0-litre motor, to highlight their point – with its practicality and efficiency making it an ideal choice for urban driving.
There’s also the Ford Fiesta – the now-discontinued hatchback that’s the UK’s best-selling car of all time.
The Swansway Group have a 2017 Ford Fiesta 1.0T EcoBoost on their lot that’s priced at £9,349.
“The Ford Fiesta has been a favourite among hatchbacks, known for its fun driving dynamics and stylish design,” the experts said.
As an EcoBoost model, this iteration of the Fiesta delivers both performance and fuel efficiency, offering 65.7 MPG.
Better yet, the Fiesta is renowned for its cabin space, despite being a small hatchback – making it ideal for up to five passengers.
For those seeking both style and efficiency, the Peugeot 108, another 1.0-litre hatchback, is priced at £7,840.
They said: “The Peugeot 108 is stylish and eco-friendly, making it perfect for urban environments.
“Its compact size makes it easy to navigate through city traffic while providing a comfortable ride.”
There’s also a surprising amount of tech inside, including a rear camera and touchscreen display.
Finally, they picked out the VW Polo – a 1.2 TSI SEL version – priced at £9,989, that combines a “robust build quality with stylish design.”
They added: “The Polo is a solid choice in the hatchback segment, known for its quality and practicality.
“With a 1.2 TSI engine producing 108 bhp and 27,225 miles driven, it offers a dynamic driving experience.”
Better yet, this small-engined Polo offers great fuel economy of 58.85 MPG.
This comes as VW unveiled a special edition hot hatchback that’s inspired by a legendary model from 1990s.
And elsewhere, the world’s largest car company is set to release a hot hatch to rival the VW Golf R after years of fans begging for it to arrive.
The model has already taken the US by storm but now appears to have been confirmed for a UK debut.
